Why You Need to Join the Yahoo Group

ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO-nuff said! :)

So occassionally, I do indulge in non-tennis brieflines pics and when I do I like to share and post them to the yahoo group. As a matter of fact, I sent about six photos of Chelsea FC star, Andriy Shevchenko out to the members of the group (the one attached to this post was included). I won't post them on the geocities site, so the only way you'll get anything I send out that is not tennis related will be to join the group.

So do it already! lol

List of Players on Geocities Site

I thought it would be helpful (and incentivizing) if I included an exhaustive list of all the players currently on the geocities site. There are currently eighty nine players. Click the image above to see the entire list ordered in terms of players with the most pictures to the players with the least.

Paul Hanley

Good afternoon guys!

Paul Hanley of Australia was added to the
brflines site. I only have one picture of him, which is attached to this post.

I'm hoping to post some other non-tennis pics to this blog later today, along with my push for the yahoo group. So keep a look out!

Roger Federer

Hello.

Today I uploaded seven pictures of Roger Federer's brieflines to the
brflines site. One of the pictures included in the update is attached to this post. Several of the pictures are screen captures of Federer's aussie open matches by TZ.

TZ is a moderator/founder type of the yahoo group,
brief lines. If you're a dude and are over eighteen years of age (18+) click on the link and join and bask in all the briefy goodness that comes to your mailbox almost every day. I know I do!

Have a safe Wednesday, boys.

Jan Vacek

Good morning, boys!

I added Jan Vacek to the
brflines site this morning. I have no idea who he is, except that he's on the tour. His picture, like Kunitsyn's was buried away in a random subdirectory. The one picture I have of him is attached to this post.

Enjoy the update...i'm out!

Jan Vacek

I added a player named Jan Vacek to the geocities site this morning. I don't know anything about him, but had his picture in an overlooked subdirectory, just like Kunitsyn. The only photo I have of him is attached to this post.

Tim-uh

Today's photo update to the brflines site is to Tim Henman's page. Eleven photos were added brining the total number on his page to twenty seven (27). One of the eleven pictures included in the update is attached to this post.

I've always liked Tim Henman, but he never seemed to quite make it a final of a major, including the hometown tourney, the Championships at Wimbledon. Still, he was always a very gentlemanly player. He seemed to me the epitome of what a Briton is.

Enjoy the update!

New King of the Court?

Novak Djokovic has won the Aussie Open!

Congratulations to Nole. It's nice to see someone besides Federer or Nadal win a major. Hopefully his ascent to the zenith of the game as well as Tsonga's strong run to the final is a harbinger of a new ascendent order....

Igor Kunitsyn

So, I've had a couple pictures of Igor Kunitsyn in my hard drive forever, but I guess that I've always just skipped over the directory with them in it. He's part of a group of players that I had skipped over when I first created the brflines site because of the paucity of pictures of non-top ten-ranked players. I wanted to make sure that I got the big boys (Robredo, Nieminen, Gasquet) up first since I had so many pics of them.

So in the forthcoming days, you'll get more of those types of guys that have one or two pics and who are more obscure.

Enjoy the updates boys.

Julien Benneteau

Ooh la la! Frenchman Julien Benneteau's page on the brflines site was updated with four new pictures, one of which is attached to this post.

I really like searching for pictures of Julien. His photos usually yield a high percentage of briefline pics in proportion to total pics since he wears white shorts a lot.

Enjoy guys!

Holy Nole!

CONGRATULATIONS to Novak Djokovic, one of my personal favorites who frequently has brieflines on display. He beat superstud Roger Federer to reach the Aussie Open Finals!

I've added a poll for you guys to vote on who you think will win the Aussie Open on the right navigation bar. Try your luck and vote!

Mischa Zverev

While I had a moment to do so, I thought I'd update the site quickly with a new player, Mischa Zverev of Germany. The only briefline photo I have of him is attached to this post.

Enjoy guys!

David Beckham and the Hiatus

So, due to circumstances in my personal life, I took a minor hiatus to the blog and brflines site and basically passively collected brieflines pics. Fortunately, because the first major slam is currently underway (the Australian Open) briefline pics of tennis players have been rather easy to come by.

I will return to the site shortly as soon as I gain traction with my job, etc. In the meantime, if you need a fix of brieflines everyday, join the yahoo group. I sent about ten email messages to the group today with my finds, including non-tennis photos (like the ones above of David Beckham).

Thanks for voting in the poll and leaving feedback, it really does mean a lot to me!

Jonas Bjorkman

Today's update to the brflines website is Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden. Three pictures were added to his page on the geocities site. One of those pictures added to his page is attached to this post above.

Enjoy boys!

Andy Murray

Scotsman Andy Murray was added to the brflines site this morning. One of the three photos that are on the page dedicated to him has been attached to this post.

Andy's quickly risen through the tour to situate himself in the top ten. Best of luck to him in the Aussie Open!

To Rafa or Not?

One of the glaring omissions to the brieflines site is Rafael Nadal. He wears really tiny underwear and white man-pris all the time :0).

But I have to admit, I’m not a fan. I don’t find him the least bit attractive so I've refrained from adding him, though I've received many photos from the
Y! Group (which you should join). On the other hand, I do feel a need to respond to the several requests to add him in my guestbook.

So, I’ll open it up to the general readership of this blog. I’ve put a poll in the right navigation bar that you can use to have your voice heard! The poll will close in one week.

Let me know boys!

Super Mario (Ancic)

Five pictures were added to the Mario Ancic page of the brflines website. One of the pictures included in the update is attached to this post.

Tall and gangly, Mario always obliges with out of the world brieflines. Some of the images I use for navigation buttons and banners are, in fact, images of Mario's brieflines.

Sadly, he was injured for the latter part of the 2007 season, so he didn't provide as many brieflines as healthier players, like Novak Djokovic. Hopefully he's healed up for the '08 season and continues to wear colored briefs and white shorts.

Still #1

I recently questioned why I maintain the brflines site and this blog after I received some communication criticizing it. Then I chatted with a really nice guy from Canada who reignited my interest in maintaining both. Thanks, Mike.

Anyway, the geocities site now has over seven hundred pictures (716 to be exact), about a hundred more then the last update on the site's content. Tommy Robredo still reigns supreme with ninety photos of his sweet brieflines. As evidenced by the picture above, you can see why Tommy reigns supreme! The other members of the top ten remain the same, with a little variance in the order. They are as follows

1. Tommy Robredo (90 photos)
2. Novak Djokovic (66 photos)
3. Richard Gasquet (58 photos)
4. Fernando Verdasco (40 photos)
5. Jarkko Nieminen (35 photos)
6. Frank Dancevic (28 photos)
7. Mario Ancic (23 photos)
8 tie. Lleyton Hewitt (22 photos)
8 tie. Andy Roddick (22 photos)
10. Marat Safin (19 photos)

Also, my weekly plug for the yahoo group. Join it already!

Juan Ignacio Chela

A page was added to the brflines site for Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina.

I don't know a lot about senor Chela, but I remember watching a special on a female tennis player on the Tennis Channel and Juan Ignacio worked out at the same gym as her. I remember thinking about how thin he was and how he would be able to play with more built players like Ginepri.

Three pics are on the page, one of which is attached to this post. Enjoy!

Dmitry Tursunov

Four photos of Dmitry Tursunov were added to the brflines site this morning. I hope you guys enjoy them!

Paradorn Srichaphan

I added a page for Paradorn Srichaphan to my brflines site this morning. I only have the one picture I attached above published, though I know there are many, many briefline photos of him floating around. I even have some in my email account, but haven't had time to sort through the messages to download the photos.

The addition of Paradorn is significant because he is the first player from Asia that I've added to the page. Most of the players are from Europe, North America, or Australia. I'd like to post more players from regions that are under-represented on the site.

Anyway, that's it for now. Enjoy guys!

Jarkko Nieminen

Hey boys. Today's update is to the Jarkko Nieminen page on the brflines site. I added five pictures to it. If you are a member of the y! group, you should have already received these, since my updates are about a month behind my postings in the y! group.

Jarkko is one of my favorite players on the tour. He's blonde and beautiful. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy.

Index Photo Updates

It seems like the ATP commissioned a bunch of new profile pictures for its website. So, accordingly I've updated the geocities site with some of the new pictures.

Some of the pictures are much improved, like the one of Andy Roddick above. The one on the right seems much more natural and his smile less forced.

Anyway, look forward to some new Nieminen brieflines tomorrow.

Michael Owen

I thought I'd use this lovely photo of english footballer, Michael Owen to make my weekly plug for the yahoo group. Here are three reasons why you need to join:

1. I usually use the weekends to find most of the new pics that will end up on the geocities site. I also find non-tennis pics (like the one above) that I also send out and that will not end up on the geocities site. If you want to receive pics like this by email, you'll have to join the yahoo group.

2. There's about a month lag between when I send pics out via the group and when they end up posted on the site. So if you absolutely need to see the latest and greatest pic of let's say, a
Jarkko Nieminen briefline, you'll get those as I find them via the yahoo group.

3. All tennis pictures that end up on the geocities site are sent via the yahoo group. You get all the pictures and don't have to deal with the data transfer limitation.

So go ahead and
join up already!

Carlos Berlocq

Carlos Berlocq of Argentina has been added to the brflines site. The only picture I have of him is attached above.

Next blog entry will be Monday....

Brflines Updates

I made a couple of small modifications to the brflines site over the past couple of days, some noticeable, some not.

The most noticeable change is the background. Green squares are out and blue stripes are in. I hope you like that. It makes it easier for me to align the html elements with the stripes and I think it gives it a more masculine look.

On the index page, I also provide a more comprehensive list of planned updates. This list will now include photo updates to existing pages where it previously only provided a list of players that will be added to the site.

I hope these are positive changes for those of you who visit and enjoy the site.

Max Mirnyi

Max Mirnyi's page was updated today. I added three pictures of the tall, lanky, hunky tennis player from Byelorus's page on my brflines site.

I know I have a nice video of his brieflines that I keep meaning to pare down into a video clip. When I do finally create the clip and upload it to a free server, I'll post it in the yahoo group. Please make sure that you visit and join the
yahoo group to get access to all kinds of briefline pics as well as updates from me that I don't make here or to my geocities page.

Going Global 2

I use statcounter to track some basic statistics on this blog. I’m just super curious to see where all the traffic is being driven from and to see from time to time how the numbers ebb and flow based on variables like day of the week and whether I make an update to the geocities site or not.

One of the most interesting things that stat counter does is tell me which country a user is from. Don't worry, I'm not a cyber stalker--I can’t drill down any lower than the country level, but it’s fun to see that brieflines are appreciated the world over.

Since my last post on the subject, several other countries have joined the list of visitors to my blog including:

-Latvia
-Saudi Arabia
-Bosnia
-Belgium
-Taiwan
-China
-New Zealand
-Columbia
-Finland
-Ireland
-Slovakia

The map above shows the geographic location of my last seventy visitors or so.

Martin Klizan

Hey boys, I'm back!

I updated the brflines site today with a page for Martin Klizan. The only line pic I have of the 18 year old is attached to this post.

Please make sure to visit the yahoo brieflines group if you would like to get these kinds of pics and more. The link is on the right.

Happy New Year!
