I think it's great that when a player retires, there are still pics of them and their brieflines floating around cyberspace.

That's the case with Marat Safin, the Russian tennis player (and member of parliament?).

So many things to say this morning about Marat Safin.

First, I added twenty two new pics of him to the brflines site.

Second, this is what happens when your record keeping is not spot on. I miss a few names here and there, and suddenly I've got to add twenty two new pics to the site.

Third, even though he's retired I hope his rabid group of fangrrrls on the MTF keep finding pics of me to keep :)

How else can you explain the persistant wearing of all white outfits with black briefs underneath? Atta boy Marat!

We can all contently ride off into the sunset with him as he closes out his pro career in style :)

I made a major Marat update to the brflines site today. Thirteen new pictures of him were added to his page on the site. Better save all of these pics because Marat said that he's going to retire after this year.

Hey guys, today's update is to Marat Safin's page on the brflines site.

I get a weird feeling when I think of Marat's potential, I think some people call it sadness.

Three or four years ago, whenever the color commentators would talk about Marat, they'd inevitably talk about his partying ways and his unrealized potential. I do recall one match where he looked like a hot mess and rolled out of bed about ten minutes before the opening toss. And remember the long hair, blech. Some guys look okay with it, and some guys (read Marat) look like pre-op trannies.

Well, back to the matter at hand, I added six new pics of him on the page. Go check them out.

Hey guys, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm back to making updates since the unfortunate demise of my last flash drive. I did make an update this morning to the brflines site.

Three new pics were added to Marat Safin's page on the site. Poor Marat, so much potential, but it was never realized. He's still a threat but I think that his time has passed, with the emergence of the next generation of players like Simon and del Potro.

But since he's still on the tour, he's still producing brieflines, which I will continue to post to all of you.

Oh and sorry about the brevity and infrequency of posts. Last week was kind of killer at work, but I should have a much easier week this week and hopefully catch up some.

Have you guys been watching the olympics games? I briefly caught the mens double finals between Switzerland and Sweden. Damn, Thomas Johansson was wearing some pretty see through white shorts. I hope I can find it somewhere to download.

Hey boys! Since I was sick for most of the week, and therefore could not post as many updates as I would have liked, I'm making a rare weekend update to the brflines site.

The site was updated today with four (4) pictures of Marat Safin of Russia. One of the four pictures that were included in the updates is attached to this post.

I really used to be into Marat Safin, and then he made the unfortunate mistake of growing his hair long and growing out his goatee. Blech. Anyway, he's trimmed the 'fro back and he looks pretty decent nowadays :).

Marat Safin's page on my main brieflines site has been updated with four photos (nos. 16-19). The above picture is one of the ones included in today's photo update.

I used to love Marat Safin. I thought he looked like a movie star (I don't recall which one) and then he grew his hair long, ugh. That's a huge pet peeve of mine, when players have long, unkempt hair...it's just not my thing. The Spaniards all seem to do this at some point in their career (e.g., Ferrero, Robredo, Nadal). I don't think it's cute at all.

But now his hair is short again, so he's back in my good graces :0) lol. Also a couple of years ago, he seems to have switched to trunks, but I've seen a couple of recent pics where he's wearing briefs. At least it seems like he's mixing it up.
