My frozen little fingers are seizing up as I type this message! (j/k)
I added a page for Ivo Heuberger of Switzerland to the brflines site. I have no idea who this guy is or if he's even active on the tour. I just found this pic hanging out in a random subdirectory on my jump drive, so I thought whatevs, I'll post it.
Just a quick note that I added a pic to James Blake's page on the brflines site.
Also, you may or may not have noticed, but I made updates to the profile pictures of some of the players on the site. Some are a huge improvement (Mario Ancic comes to mind) some not so much (Jeremy Chardy).
Well kids, the boom times are over for Novak pics.
There was a time I was adding fifteen pictures a month to the brflines site of Novak's lovely brief lines. But a combination of poorer play and compression shorts have really affected the amount of brieflines shots out there of Novak.
I have a couple more pics of him that I have to resize because there is no way to send them via the Yahoo group or even post them on image shack. Otherwise, we'll have to wait to the Aussie Open early next year to see if he'll start wearing briefs again.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't given up on vidclips. I still have a ton of full matches from Wimbledon and are combing through them to see if there are any good brieflines that I could make clips out of. I'm posting three links for you to clips I made tonight:
It's time to list the top ten for November. Those avid readers of my blog know that every month, I list the top ten players according to the number of photos that are on their page on the brflines site. The player witht he most photos is number one, the second most, second, and so on and so forth.
So without further wait, this month's top ten are:
1. Novak Djokovic, 174 photos 2. Tommy Robredo, 137 3. Richard Gasquet, 136 4. Fernando Verdasco, 76 5. Jarkko Nieminen, 59 T6. Roger Federer, 48 T6. Andy Roddick, 48 T8. Thomas Johansson, 38 T8. Marat Safin, 38 10. Mario Ancic, 34
Novak Djokovic has hung on to his spot at the top. The chasm between the top three (Djokovi, Robredo, Gasquet) is as wide as ever, with only Nando Verdasco as a potential usurper.
The next three players who are waiting in the wings to swoop into the top ten are Julien Benneteau, Tim Henman, and Feliciano Lopez. We'll see if they can make their move in the next couple of months.
Brrr...it's cold and snow in Chicago this morning, but that doesn't mean that updates stop! I made an update to the brflines site today.
I added two pics of one of the heroes of Spain's victory in winning the Davis Cup against Argentina this weekend. Arguably, Feli Lopez and Nando Verdasco were the facilitators of the Spanish victory.
So, much love to Spain for their victory and keep warm guys.
Hey guys, I addded a new player to the brflines site this evening.
His name is Andrey Golubev and he's from Kazakhstan. He's part of the new group of players emerging onto the world stage. There's two pics of him on the page, including the one attached to this blog post.
Is everyone watching the Davis Cup? Lots of brieflines sitings. I was watching the Nalabandian/Calleri vs. Verdasco/Lopez doubles. I'm so torn! I love me my Spanish players, but Calleri was rockin some hot lines!
Well kids, today is the first anniversary of the brflines blog. I can say with certainty that it's been a blast and I hope for many years more of service to the community of brieflines enthusiasts out there. And what better way to celebrate then to make an update to Tommy Robredo's page on the brflines website? Go check them out and keep looking out for those brieflnes boys!!
It seems like the wealth of briefline pictures out there have slowed considerably. There was a time when I had stores of forty to fifty pictrues of Novak, Richy, or Tommy that I could put out there when the going was slow. But, the last update I made today of Richy (four new pics) have exhausted my repository of briefline pics for him.
Similarly, I'm maxing out on the number of pics I have of Novak and Tommy Robredo. Maybe someone will step to the fore and fill in for the paucity of pictures, but it may be a very slow Jan and Feb around the brflines site!!
Hey guys, I added a new pic of Andy Roddick this morning to the brflines site this morning.
As you avid tennis briefline watchers know, these pics of Andy Roddick are few and far between, ever since he switched to compression shorts at about the same time he switched from Reebok to Lacoste.
So the few pics you'll find of him with brflines in it are worthwhile finds because (sorry Reebok) but his outfits were pretty hot messes back then. Lots of weird printed shirts and wacked colors. That and back in the day, people weren't posting hi res images...so chereish these pics of Andy!!
Last thing about Andy...did you guys see him in coverage of the Master's Shanghai? I'm voting against the shaved head!! BAD look :(
There was an interesting news story on Yahoo! this morning.
In an effort to block a player's vision of the goal, a a few team members, forming a wall during a free kick, simultaneously dropped their shorts. Great idea! I'm all for it. :)
