While I was watching Wimbledon this year, the color commentary during the Murray-Gulbis was a little critical of Gulbis and how he's fallen off since last year.

I just wanted to grab the mic and bop both of them over the head. No one talks about my Ernie that way :)

More Profile Picture Updates

Hey guys, just a quick note that I switched out the profile pictures for six tennis players on the brflines site.

Looks like the ATP is retooling the pictures for its major players. The last big update included Novak, Roger, and Rafa. This updates includes Thomaz Bellucci, David Ferrer, Richy Gasquet, PHM, Tommy Robredo, and Stan Wawrinka.

Thank goodness Tommy took a good picture this time around. The other one made him look emaciated. But, too bad for Stan, his skin looks terrible in this pic. Oh well!

Apparently he just made the richest deal in the world to transfer to Real Madrid. Good for him.

The new profile pics fall into three categories (roughly): good, bad, and weird.

For the good, Tomas Berdych, Ernests Gulbis, Andy Murray, Jarkko Nieminen, and Viktor Troicki all got upgraded with their new pics. Berdych looks like a man now, so does Gulbis. Seriously, does Jarkko ever take a bad face picture? And Viktor doesn't look so acne-ridden now.

The new pics that fall into the bad category include Lukas Dlouhy, Feliciano Lopez, Andy Roddick and Fernando Verdasco. Poor Andy is quickly losing the battle against his receding hairline. Nando looks like Frankenstein in his new pic.

And finally, the weird, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. I don't know if it has to do with the "space/galactic" theme of the new ATP site, but the pictures look all futuristic, or at least too glittery.

Novak Djokovic

Holy Nole! Novak Djokovic is the first player ever on the brflines site to reach the illustrious 200 photo benchmark!

Though most of us hope he revises his wayward apparel choices (compression shorts, yuck!!), we celebrate the briefiness of his ascent to the top tier of the ATP. Like one fan grrrrl insinuated on the MTF boards, Nole won championships when he was wearing briefs and it is, in fact, that he changed to compression shorts that has made him less competitive this year.

See, even the grrrls want to see him in briefs!

Juan Carlos is the king because his name is the same as the Bourbon monarch on the spanish throne, but Roger is king of the tennis court.

And until someone pries the Wimbledon trophy from his mighty grip, he'll remain king.

As such, the twelve pics I added to his page on the brflines site is a fitting tribute. Enjoy.

Well, well, Juanqui was on a lil' hot streak going through Wimbledon.

I've got a soft place in my hear for "King" Juan Carlos, as he was the first tennis player that I noticed playing with briefs through his shorts. His hotness made me want to be his underwear :P
